Feet First

We are a husband and wife farrier team, located in the Fraser Valley. We are based in Langley, and serve Abbotsford, Aldergrove, Surrey, Mission, and Chilliwack. We occasionally travel further west toward Delta and Richmond, and across the river to Maple Ridge.

We both are graduates of highly respected farrier schools. Travis received his education at Heartland Horseshoeing School in Lamar, Missouri. He is mentored by Nick Spencer and specializes in Hunter/Jumpers. Maria attended the Farrier Science program at Olds College in Olds, Alberta, and apprenticed under Dan Krinbill whose specialty is gaited horses. We feel that we have a diverse and well rounded base of knowledge drawn from our differing educations, and are able to offer many styles of shoeing appropriate for your discipline of choice.

Presently due to family obligations, Maria serves as receptionist; scheduling and dispatching. Most often Travis will be the one working on your horses, although from time to time we do still work together in the field.

Family is important to us, and we appreciate the flexibility that horseshoeing affords. That being said, we know that your time is valuable, and realize that you are taking time out of your schedule for your farrier appointment. When you book an appointment, you can rest assured that we will keep it, and arrive in a timely manner. If there are unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a courtesy call to inform you of the delay. During normal business hours, we attempt to answer the phone, but we will return your call if we do miss you. If you call after hours, you will receive a call back the next day. In return we expect your horses to be caught, clean and ready to be worked on.

Being horse owners ourselves, we understand the relationship between a horse and owner. We will treat your horses with the same respect that we treat our own.

Travis has provided excellent service for my two horses. I have a mare who is a shoe pulling expert (usually the day before a show/clinic), and Travis goes out of his way to fix things for me as soon as possible. He is patient and his work is phenomenal. My horses feet have never looked better. He is always happy to answer my questions, listen to my concerns, and offer suggestions and solutions. It is comforting to have someone so reliable and knowledgeable working on my horses. I know I can count on Travis to get the job done right

Travis and Maria are both great at taking care of all my farrier needs. I really appreciate that Maria lets me know when my horse is due and makes it such an easy process to pay/have my horse taken care of. Travis is a meticulous farrier who takes pride in not only his current work – but his education. He’s always learning and applying techniques to ensure he is at the top of his field. Amazing team! Couldn’t be happier!

The decision to spay or neuter your pet is an important one for pet owners. But it can be the single best decision you make for their long-term welfare. A USA Today (May 7, 2013) article cites that pets who live in the states with the highest rates of spaying/neutering also live the longest. According […]
