Country Of Origin Tunisia
History and Background Also called the Tunisian, the Mogod Pony comes from the northernmost area of Tunisia and is thought to be a strain of the mighty Barb horse, refined and bred to suit the area over centuries. Sadly as machines began to replace animals in the 20th century their numbers began to dwindle.
Use Today Riding horse, Harness, Polo horse
Height 12.2 – 14.2 hands (48.8 - 56.8 inches)
Colour Bay, Chestnut, Grey
Characteristics Head is heavy but well set
Eyes are expressive and alert
Neck is short but graceful
Chest is broad and deep
Back is short
Legs are strong and well
Personality and Temperament Intelligent, quick to learn, willing and easygoing
