Requirement to Have a Dog Licence If you own a dog, and live in the District, you are required to have a licence for your dog.
Purchase a Dog Licence You can purchase a dog licence either:
- At the District Hall, at 355 West Queens Road between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, or
- At the Animal Welfare Shelter, at 299 Mansfield Place open 7 days a week 9:00 am – 5:00 pm ANNUAL LICENCE FEES (Payments received before February 2, 2015 will receive a discount of $10.00)

* A certificate by a veterinarian certifying that the dog has been spayed or neutered is required where applying for a licence for a spayed or neutered dog.
** NOTE: In order to obtain an annual licence with respect to an aggressive dog, the owner must provide:
- A) Proof of liablilty insurance in the amount of $1,000,000: AND
- B) a certificate from a veterinarian certifying that the dog has been spayed or neutered.
Replacement Licences remain the same at $5.25.
