About Dogwood Park

Dogwood Park is located along 20 Avenue in South Surrey. The park is a part of a larger linear park system that includes Chantrell Park to the east and Bridlewood Park and Huntington Park to the west. The linear system is a natural extension of the Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest.

Dogwood Park is mainly a natural area. Find walking trails through the forest, connecting to another larger trail system, that continues through Chantrell and Bridlewood Park.

Dogwood dog off-leash area

The Dogwood dog off-leash area is located in the south portion of the park, adjacent to the parking lot on 20 Avenue. You’ll find the terrain is predominantly grass and gravel areas. There are a number of forest pathways that lead from the dog off-leash area, but they are on-leash, so be sure to keep Rover close by.

We are planning on fencing off the off-leash area so that it is clear which areas are for dogs and which are not. Here is a map showing the proposed fence and related works.

Information and Updates

We are planning to undertake improvements to the dog off-leash area, including additional fencing to reduce conflicts between off-leash dogs and other park users. Plans will be posed in the park, and online, later this spring. Construction is anticipated for later this summer.
